Register For Tryouts!

Why tryout for fremont rush?

What Are Competitive Tryouts?

Competitive tryouts are typically held by soccer clubs to select players for their highest level teams, which often compete at a more advanced level than recreational teams. These tryouts are designed to evaluate the skill level of each player and determine which players are best suited for the competitive teams.

At Fremont Rush, we hold competitive tryouts for our competitive teams each year. These tryouts are open to all NorCal & CalNorth soccer players, and we encourage all interested players to attend. During the tryouts, players will be evaluated based on a variety of factors, including technical skill, tactical awareness, physical fitness, and attitude.

Players who are selected for our competitive teams will have the opportunity to participate in a more challenging and competitive environment, which can help them improve their skills and achieve their full potential as soccer players.

TRYOUT F.A.Q.

  • Do I have to register if I can't attend Tryouts?

YES. All players MUST register for Tryouts in advance. You will not be considered for placement on a team if you are not registered.

  • Do I have to attend both days?

Yes. The first day of tryouts will likely be focused on evaluating your ability to perform basic skills and techniques, while the second day will be more geared toward assessing your performance in real-game scenarios.

By attending both days, you'll be able to demonstrate your skills in both areas and increase your chances of making the team.

  • What should my child wear to Tryouts?

Suggested: Black soccer socks, black soccer shorts, black shirt, soccer cleats or turfs, shin guards & size four soccer ball.

  • When should arrive to the field?

Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to sign in. If you haven’t registered online, you’ll need to complete additional paperwork.

  • Can parents be on the field?

Parents are not allowed to be on the tryout fields, coach from the sidelines, or engage in conversation with evaluators. You’re happy to watch your child through the gated fence.

  • By what criteria will players be assessed?

Players will be evaluated on technical, tactical, S.A.Q., and psychological factors demonstrated in their attitude, approach, and performance at tryouts. Our evaluators will assess these qualities through a variety of methods, most notably through observing small-sided games and behavior and habits during tryouts.

  • Will my child be constantly observed during the tryout?

Each player will be observed for a vast majority of the tryout, and every player will be observed by three or more coaches during the tryout process. Our Fremont Rush coaches want the players to enjoy the tryout experience and to actively play for most of the minutes they are on the field. At times, our coaches will need to compare notes with one another, to discuss next steps in the tryout process.
