Year Round Season

Competitive teams are formed in the summer of each year through open tryouts and evaluations. Players are accepted to their team for a one – year (12-month) commitment beginning July 1 to June 15th the following year.

The Competitive program requires travel to local, regional and/or out-of-state tournaments. Individual teams compete at various levels depending upon the competitive needs of the players involved.

COMPETITIVE Teams

At Fremont Rush Soccer, we're proud to offer different team options for our players to develop and showcase their skills. Our first team, the Blue team, is comprised of our most advanced players. These athletes have shown exceptional ability on the field and have earned their spot on this highly competitive team. The Blue team competes at a high level against other top teams in the league and tournaments.

Our second team, the Nero team, is made up of players who are continuing to develop their skills and knowledge of the game. This team provides a great opportunity for players to gain experience and improve their abilities in a supportive and challenging environment. While the Nero team may not compete at the same level as the Blue team, they still take the field with determination and a desire to win.

Finally, our third team, the Grey team, is perfect for players who are new to the competitive sport or still developing their skills. The Grey team is a great starting point for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of soccer and gain confidence on the field. Coaches work closely with players to ensure they receive the individual attention and instruction needed to improve their skills and progress to the next level.

No matter which team a player is on, we pride ourselves on providing a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and develop their passion for the game.

Player Placement

Fremont Rush holds its annual tryouts in late May and early June to place players on teams based on their abilities. With hundreds, and sometimes thousands of players to evaluate in a short period, the process takes up hundreds of hours. Our highly experienced coaching staff provides individualized training to help players improve their technical skills, tactical understanding, S.A.Q., and overall game intelligence. With a proven track record of preparing players for college and professional careers, Fremont Rush Soccer Club offers players access to a vast global network of Rush resources, clubs, and coaches, providing opportunities to compete in international tournaments and even travel abroad to play with other Rush clubs.

Additionally, to accurately assess players, we evaluate their technical and tactical abilities, as well as their physical and psychological attributes. However, we recognize that a tryout period may not be enough to fully rate players accurately. Therefore, we continuously observe players throughout the year at training sessions and games, allowing their team Head Coach and Director of Coaching to make more informed placement decisions within the Rush system. Evaluations are based on various components, such as attendance, attitude, team chemistry, and consistency, in addition to technical and tactical skills. Join us and become a part of the Fremont Rush community today!

Player Pathway

Our Competitive Program exists to allow any player, irrespective of ability, the opportunity to take their game to the height of their potential. Additional divisions within our Competitive Program give our top level players more elite playing opportunities. For our top players, their goals should include playing on their respective Rush Select Regional teams and Rush Select National teams.

For our club, our goal is to push our players to reach that "next level" by allowing our members as many opportunities within our local club and national Rush network to improve their overall game all while providing an unparalleled youth soccer experience.

COMPETITIVE F.A.Q.

  • What is competitive soccer?

Competitive soccer refers to the highest level of play with the highest level of commitment, where teams compete against other clubs in leagues and tournaments. It involves more intense training, a more significant commitment of time and effort, and a focus on player development.

  • What is the commitment level expected from players and families?

Competitive soccer requires a higher level of commitment compared to recreational leagues. Players are expected to attend practices, games, and team events regularly. Additionally, families are expected to support their child's involvement by ensuring attendance, providing transportation, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

  • How often do teams practice and play games?

Teams practice multiple times (3 -4) per week, with the frequency and duration varying depending on the age group and competitive level. Games are usually scheduled on weekends, and teams may participate in tournaments throughout the season.

  • Can my child participate in other activities while playing competitive soccer?

While we encourage multi-sport participation and a well-rounded approach to youth development, it's important to remember that competitive soccer demands a significant commitment. Prioritizing soccer and maintaining regular attendance at practices and games is essential for player development and team cohesion.

  • How are teams formed?

Teams are typically formed based on a combination of factors, including age, skill level, and player evaluations conducted during tryouts. Our club strives to create balanced and competitive teams while considering individual player development needs.

  • What are team fees?

Team fees are generally paid by the entire team and cover shared expenses that benefit the entire team. These fees are used to cover costs such as league registration fees, coaching fees, equipment, field rentals, tournament fees, and administrative expenses. Team fees are divided equally among all the players on the team.

  • What are player fees?

Player fees are individual fees paid by each player and cover expenses specific to that player, such as their own uniform, player insurance, player development programs, and any additional training or specialized coaching they may require. These fees are determined based on the specific needs and goals of the player.

  • Are there opportunities for college scholarships?

Absolutely! Fremont Rush Soccer is proud to be a part of Rush Soccer, which provides access to its college advisory program. This program is designed to support players starting from the summer of their 8th-grade year and throughout their high school journey. The Rush Soccer College Advisory Program aims to guide players and their families through the college recruitment process, providing resources, assistance, and connections to college coaches.

  • How can parents support their child's soccer journey?

Supportive and positive parental involvement is crucial for a player's success and enjoyment of the sport. Parents can attend games, offer encouragement, provide transportation, and foster a healthy balance between soccer and other aspects of their child's life.
