The Importance of Our Parent Volunteers!

Since returning to the field, a few things have changed at Fremont Rush, one of them being the importance of our parent volunteers.

When players came back in August new protocols had to be put in place to ensure the safety of everyone there. Checking temperatures and questionnaires, directing traffic, and ensuring everyone had mask and hand sanitizer were the new norms that had to be followed. Our volunteers were the ones who stepped up and made sure that the policies were enforced and everyone stayed safe.

I spoke with one of our parent committee members, Gio De Torres, who helped with putting everything into place and what motivated him to do so.

“ I did it all for my son. Whatever I could do to help get him back out here playing, having fun I was willing to do. If that meant enforcing social distancing or making sure everyone had their masks then that’s what I would do. I just wanted to make sure the kids could return to the field safely.”

While Gio helps lead our volunteers at Fremont Rush, we have an abundance of parents who have helped out on the pitch. Walking the kids to their cars after training, checking them in as they arrive, and running them to the restroom so coaches can continue their practices, none of their work goes overlooked.

A BIG Fremont Rush thank you goes out to all of our volunteers who have helped get players back on the pitch!
